Cinco de Mayo Resources for Kids

It’s fiesta time! Cinco de Mayo is celebrated on the 5th of May every year, with good food, music and lots of fun! This spirited festival commemorates Mexican pride and heritage, and marks the day that General Zargoza, with his small and underequipped army, defeated the mighty French army that came to take over Mexico. Mexicans living in California during the American Civil War began celebrating this day to honor the causes of freedom and democracy during the first few years of the war.

With so many reasons to celebrate and so many fun ways to do so, Cinco de Mayo is celebrated in style all over the country. With JumpStart’s fun Cinco de Mayo resources, you can join in the festivities even at school. Choose from our collection of Cinco de Mayo crafts, Cinco de Mayo activities and Cinco de Mayo worksheets and celebrate everything Mexican in this land. Churros, anyone?
