Must See 2013 Films
There are some amazing movies being released in 2013 featuring some well known titles with even bigger actors. Here's counting down to some of the biggest movies hitting the theaters this year:
- OZ: The Great and Powerful – This modern spin-off of the original ‘Wizard of Oz’ brings a cool twist into the story behind how the wizard of Oz became a Wizard. In a small town, there is a small-time magician who lives a childish life. He is then whisked away into the intriguing land of Oz where he begins his journey on a path of self-discovery and tries to transform himself into the all powerful Oz. James Franco stars as the magician while the three witches are played by Mila Kunis, Rachel Weisz and Michelle Williams.
- The Croods – This animated film displays the perils and excitement that a caveman family must go through after having their home destroyed. This journey takes them to a world of new creatures, vibrant colors, and an enchanting new way of life. This family must face the unknown together to adapt to their new setting in order to survive. Some of the key characters are voiced by Nicholas Cage, Ryan Reynolds, and Emma Stone.
- Jurassic Park 3D – This classic film shows the adventure of a lifetime when a handful of scientists are selected to take a private tour of the latest and greatest scientific accomplishment, Jurassic Park. This park holds extinct creatures brought back to life, dinosaurs. Scientists had discovered a way to re-create dinosaurs and raise them in this environment. When things go awry and some of the dangerous dinosaurs get lose, the scientists are in the race of a lifetime to exit the very doors they were so eager to enter. The original version was created in 1993, but today we are bringing modern technology to accommodate this visually appealing spectacle.
- Iron Man 3 – The Marvel’s continuation of Iron Man is right around the corner. When brilliant yet childish Tony Stark notices another adversary that requires great lengths to stop, Iron Man is suited up again and ready for action. Starring Robert Downey Jr., Gwyenth Paltrow, and Don Cheadle.
- The Great Gatsby – Based on the timeless novel, this glitz and glam film portrays the 20’s as an era of parties with the rich taking advantage of their wealth and rolling down a trail of love, lies, and betrayal. This film stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire, and Carey Mulligan.
- The Hangover: Part III – This is definitely one of the must-watches this year. The final chapter to the Hangover series brings back the hilarious characters of Phil Alan, Stu and Doug with some crazy new adventures in Los Angeles. This film has a large number of famous actors, with key roles being played by Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis, Justin Bartha and Ed Helms.
- Monsters University – The Monsters are back with a whole new film! A sequel to the original Monsters Inc. is finally hitting the theaters. This film takes you back to how Mike Wazowski and Sullivan first met at the University of Fear. At first despising each other, we get to see the journey these to take to become best friends.
- The Hunger Games: Catching Fire – The next movie on this novel turned film continues with Katniss’s journey after winning the Hunger Games. However, her ‘victor tour’ leaves her with a feeling of unease. This film stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth.
- The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug – The next film to the Hobbit is already planned, even though the first Hobbit just hit theaters recently. Continuing Bilbo Baggins’ adventures through perilous quests and locations which is well outside the comfort zone of a Hobbit. Bilbo seeks out the adventure and looks forward to each new experience that he knows will change his life forever.
- 300: Rise of an Empire – This prequel to the original film ‘300’, focuses on Themistocles battling the Persian army for Xerxes. Like the first film, this too will feature epic battle scenes. 300: Rise of an Empire stars Eva Green, Rodrigo Santoro, and Sullivan Stapleton.
