Make a Purse Out of Tape

Purses are one of the most useful accessories a mom could have. They carry a variety of items for every-day use, including your wallet, your keys, and other essentials. In a bind, purses can be a real lifesaver for mom, so you might find that your child is asking for a purse of their own. Look no further than this duck tape purse craft for an answer. With this quick craft, your child will be carrying around their own customized purse in no time.

Materials You Will Need:

• Duct Tape (found in different patterns at your local store)
• Scissors

Directions:

1. Select the tape colors you will be using.
2. Cut out 12 strips of tape. If you have different styles of tape, then you will want to cut out an even number of each type of tape.
3. Lay each strip down on a table with the adhesive side facing upward. Make sure to layer each strip of tape (alternating the colors or styles) on one another so that they make a cohesive sheet of tape.
4. Cut out 12 more strips of tape. Again, if you have different styles of tape, then you will want to cut out an even number of each type of tape.
5. Lay each strip down on top of the original strips of tape, so that the adhesive sides are facing one another. The idea is to have none of the adhesive parts exposed in this large sheet of tape.
6. Cut off the excess tape from the sides of the sheet of tape.
7. Fold the sheet of tape in half.
8. Next, tape the sides of the halves together on the outer border of the sheet, as shown in the image below. Make sure to leave the opening of the folded sheet open.
9. Cut out two long strips of tape for the straps of the purse. You can choose whatever colors or styles you wish. Fold these strips in half long-ways, so that none of the adhesive parts are exposed.
10. Tape these strips evenly to the inside of the bag, as shown in the image below, to finish off the bag.

This craft may get a little sticky and messy, but it will be a lot of fun for you and your child to do together. Change up the types of tape you use, and customize these purses in whatever way you want.
