Unscramble Short Vowels
Knowledge of long vowel sounds and short vowel sounds is imperative to identifying vowel sounds in different words. Sometimes vowels are pronounced like their names, examples being ape, ice, eat and oak. These are called long vowel sounds. When vowels are not pronounced like their names, for example sack, nest and mop, they are called short vowels.
