Discover with your class by taking on this fun science experiment displaying the physical integrity of eggs. Trust us; it’s out of this world!

What You’ll Need:

  • Four eggs
  • Transparent tape
  • Scissors
  • Telephone books or other gargantuan books
  • Sharpies or markers

How to Get Your Unearthly Eggs Made and Under Pressure :

How can eggs be so strong?

Surprised at how strong eggs are? They have to be from the future, right? Well, the real reason they are so strong is because of their arches. Even if arches are made of fragile egg shells, they are still very strong. They apply horizontal and vertical force to resist the weight and pressure of massive things. Ask your students to spot all the arches they can in your community on their way home. Many bridges and buildings are held up by the strength of arches!
