Describing Words: Word Meanings
Jumping Jack must be in a pleasant mood today, or he wouldn’t be dancing that lively jig on the deck! With words like ‘pleasant’ and ‘lively’, it is a lot easier to describe people, places and things around us. That is why these words are called describing words, or adjectives. Check out the eight adjectives in this English worksheet. Third graders can try to complete the sentences by filling in the blanks with the right adjectives. For help, the meanings of the missing adjectives are given under the blanks.
