Building a character

Kids start their adventures at JumpStart.com by designing a Jumpee, a personalized avatar that will run, jump, swim and slide though our magical online world. With hair, eyes, clothing and accessories to choose from, there are literally thousands of possible combinations! As players progress in the game, they will earn coins and ranks that allow them to personalize their Jumpeez even more! To change the appearance of their Jumpee at any time, players can visit the Jumpee Creator building in MainStreet.

Choosing a name

After designing the perfect Jumpee, players are asked to select a name to identify their avatar in the world. Don’t worry, though! We’ve designed our name selection tool specifically to ensure kids’ safety. Here at JumpStart, players select a unique, silly name using our Name-o-Matic, a handy tool that is pre-populated with approved names like Zach ZanyZebra. To change a Jumpee’s name at any time, players can use the JumpStart Communicator (available at the bottom right of the game screen).

Exploring the world

Players can explore the world at JumpStart.com in three ways.
  1. Using the mouse or keyboard arrows.
  2. Using the map (available at the bottom left of the game screen) to teleport directly to a destination. The map provides a diagram of all the lands, areas and games at JumpStart.com to provide quick and easy access to the desired destination. Remember, we are constantly adding new areas, games and features to the world at JumpStart.com, so we encourage players to explore!
  3. Using Quick Launch to go directly to any game or area of your choice!

Earning coins and JumpStars

Players earn coins and JumpStars by playing games and completing tasks throughout the world at JumpStart.com. Coins allow players to purchase items to personalize their worlds even more. JumpStars earned determine a player’s rank. Players with higher ranks have access to the most exciting items in the virtual stores! Tip: Players can rack up coins and JumpStars much more quickly by playing learning games! Visit the Brain Training Arcade in DownTown for quick-access to some of our favorite learning games.

Adding buddies

Exploring and learning are always more fun with friends! That’s why we built a safe and secure buddy system at JumpStart.com to allow players to meet up with their classmates, neighbors and siblings inside the online world! If your kids have friends who are also playing at JumpStart.com, simply use the tools provided under Manage Kids in the Parents section to exchange and input buddy codes.

Remember, safety is the top priority at JumpStart. We’ve designed a safe, kid-friendly system including multiplayer, chat and buddy list features. To select the perfect level of interaction for your kids, please use the controls in the Parents section of JumpStart.com.

Learn about areas by name

JumpStart.com includes a number of distinct areas and lands, all of which can be accessed from the map (available at the bottom left of the game screen).

  • StoryLand:
    • Come on in and have your kids read a story with the help of Frankie and his friends! They will learn to identify letters, numbers and shapes and meet friendly characters while playing fun games! Perfect for preschoolers.
    • Highlights Include: Pet stage
  • AdventureLand:
    • Your kids can team up with Frankie and explore JumpStart’s AdventureLand. They will embark on a journey to save a lost island from pesky little furballs known as Punk Punks while completing math, reading, art and critical thinking activities. Perfect for kindergarteners, 1st graders and 2nd graders.
    • Highlights Include: Jetpack game
  • MarineLand:
    • Have your kids take a dive in the ocean and explore an underwater world. Completing reading, math and critical thinking missions to defeat the pesky Punk Punks will make your kids honorary MarineLand citizens! Perfect for kindergarteners, 1st graders and 2nd graders
    • Highlights Include: Fashion show
  • FutureLand:
    • Are your kids ready to travel through time? Entering FutureLand will transport your kids to another era! FutureLand is a true brain builder with games that test reading, writing, arithmetic, science, math and history. Perfect for 3rd graders, 4th graders, 5th graders and beyond.
    • Highlights Include: Dr. Brain’s Lab
  • Uncle Milton’s Amazing ScienceLand:
    • In Uncle Milton’s Amazing ScienceLand, your kids can learn Science facts while having fun! Insects and the solar system are only two of the challenging subjects your kids will tackle in Uncle Milton’s Amazing ScienceLand. Perfect for all ages
    • Highlights Include: Queen Ant Maze
  • JumpStart Stadium:
    • Do your children like sports? They can join the fun at JumpStart Stadium to learn math, shapes and words by playing football, basketball and volleyball. Perfect for all ages.
  • Enchanted Sanctuary:
    • Have your kids ever thought it would be cool to train their own dragon? In the Enchanted Sanctuary, your children can hatch and raise their very own mythical creatures! Perfect for all ages.
  • Poseidon’s Hangout:
    • This is the ultimate hangout for your kids’ Jumpeez. They can relax by the fire, watch a live band at The OctoLair or race boats in ShipWreck Lagoon. Perfect for 2nd graders and beyond.
  • Windy Hollows:
    • A magical world awaits inside Windy Hollows! Your kids can hunt for secret ingredients to brew up a potion, cast bewitching spells on their Jumpee friends and soar high above the clouds on a magical broomstick! Perfect for all ages.
  • Stores:
    • Stores are located throughout JumpStart and allow players to use coins they earn playing learning games to buy virtual items for their game. These include neighborhood and house decorations, pets, rides and clothes. To access pets and rides that players have already purchased, they can visit the Ridez Garage and Petz Pen to choose a new pet or ride to travel with them on their JumpStart adventures.

Most areas in JumpStart are great for all ages. However, some areas are designed with specific age groups in mind:
