Hi,

My kids play all the jumpstart games.  But - one of them cannot get any further with any of the games.

Whenever his login/user tries to use the game he is stuck in font of Frankie who says nothing and music plays.

This happens with every game he plays whether it is colormeister or trouble in town.

Does this mean he has to start all over again and create a different user name?

Thanks.

Hello, the program has gotten out of synch. Please delete these files.

For windows XP

Go to  C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Knowledge Adventure\JumpStart World Records\KAUGlobalUser\User

If you do not see the “Application Data” folder inside the “All users” folder please follow the instructions below to make it visible.

1.       Along the top of the screen there will be a “Tools” button.

2.       Click on Tools and select “Folder Options”

3.       A pop up window will appear called “Folder Options”, click on the second tab from the left called “View”

4.       The second folder in the list says “Hidden files and folders”

5.       Select – Show hidden files and folders, then click apply.

Delete “JSWorldDownloads” file

Go to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Knowledge Adventure\JumpStart World Records\KAUGlobalUser\Products\ JS World First Grade (Kindergarten, Second Grade)

Delete “Downloads” file

Then go to   C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Knowledge Adventure\JumpStart World\JSWorld1G (k, 2G)

Delete the following folders:

Data_1 (k,2)

Manifests

Staging

Then re-launch the game. You might have to restart a few times for all of the updates to come in and register in your game.

Vista users go here:

Vista: C:\ProgramData\Knowledge Adventure\JumpStart World Records\KAUGlobalUser\User

If you do not see the “ProgramData” folder please follow the instructions below to make it visible.

1.                 Please double click on the "Control Panel" located in the start menu.
2. On the left hand side of the control panel there will be a bold text
that says "Classic View" click on this.
3. Now you should see an icon titled "Folder Options", click on this.
4. There will be 3 tabs across the top: General, View and Search. Now
click on the View tab.
5. The second folder down in the list says "Hidden files and Folders”. Check the circle next to "Show hidden files and folders" then click
Apply.

 Delete “JSWorldDownloads” file

 Then go here:

C:\ProgramData\Knowledge Adventure\JumpStart World Records\KAUGlobalUser\Products\ JS World First Grade (Kindergarten, Second Grade)

Delete “Downloads” file

Last place: C:\ProgramData\Knowledge Adventure\JumpStart World\JSWorld1G (k, 2G)

Delete the following folders:

Data_1 (k,2)

Manifests

Staging

This process can take up to 30 minutes to fully update and you might have to restart a few times. Depending on if we have downloaded a patch, and if your child is ready for an updated adventure, and if records need updated it can take a while.

My Jumpstart world grade 2 is stuck on "Frankie" for two of the logins and deleting the Download, Data, Manifest and Staging files did not help.   We are still stuck on Frankie.  I've tried that repair numerous times and it doesn't work.  It doesn't work to unistall JS world and reinstall it.

I called tech support and was told to do the file deletions and then open the game and let it download the files again.   Close and open the game until there is no longer a red bar continuing to download.

I spent an hour doing that,  deleting the files then opening the game letting it download then start then closed the game after 5 to 10 minutes.  I did this repeatedly and there are no more downloads when I open the game.  I opened and closed the game several more times to be sure.    This did not fix the problem and I was told this is the only fix they know about.

Still stuck on Frankie!

Make sure you never turn this game off without exiting out the door, and waiting a minute or two for the game to update. If you do power off before the game is updated, the records can become corrupted.

I need to get your user records to see what is going wrong. When you send me the records, Please include a brief statement what is wrong or if I need to set your game back to a different level. Thank you.
