We did our best to let customer’s know that Jumpstart world titles are basically subscription based titles. Most boxes have that explained on the inside front cover. The original CD has more content than we ever released in a game, even in the 4 CD packs. We wanted a game that could grow with the kids, and offer more content at a reasonable price tag, $7.99 a month. For that price you get access to all of the units on the original purchase, plus the ability to download a play any of the other 3 virtual worlds, as well as access to all of the units on our beta games and jumpstart.com.
There was no way we could keep putting out CD games, as the stores already limit “educational software” store shelf space.
As with every title we sell, we stand behind them 100%. If you are not happy, send it back for a full refund. Or email me direct at mike.bowman@adventure.com and I will see what I can do to make you happy.
"Jumpstart"
How do I buy the extended units for a currently installed Kinderagrten Game? All I can find is "log onto the NEW 3-D World". Is that the only option?
What is the cost comparison?
Can two childeren work on the same $79.00 per year account? Can they maintain two seperate identities?
Thank You
Hi, when you subscribe you need to download the games from manage account, downloads. The only online game we have is the BETA version. The others must be downloaded and installed.
You can have up to 6 users per game. We do not charge per game, or per users.
I too just discovered my children can not advance to level 3 without me purchasing a monthly membership. This is ridiculous. I work in the gaming industry. If our company sold a game to the public with only a small portion of the content we would be out of business so quickly. I can understand a downloadable purchase, but not purchasing a game and then asking me to buy a membership on top of that!!!
Two levels in a game that should have at least 12 levels available? How is that even ethical. I paid retail price of over $20, this is a reasonable price for a 12 level game. It is an outrageous price for a game with two levels!!!!
Stores do not take back games that have been opened. If it was possible for me to complain to the store I purchased it at I would but it is not their fault. It is that of Jump Start. I have been purchasing your products for many years. I will not purchase any more. I am sad to say this, b/c my children love your games. Asking for a membership to continue is wrong. I will not support your unethical behavior. You lost a customer.
I do agree with alot of the comments here. I must admit that it is the best game for my Girls in Grade 1. But put this in perspective:
Jumpstart Grade one - 20 + 7.99 a month would be about 95 bucks. You say you will upgrade and offer future service but the kids grow out of it and have to move on to the next grade for about 80 bucks a year. So lets say 3 years of using your software will be about $260.00
High End Computer Video Game - aproximatly $ 60.00 with free upgrades and downloads and ulimited community and online multiplayer gaming for years to come.
I think Jumpstart is taking advantage of parents that will spend almost anything on their childern's education and to try to give them a headstart.
Because this is the best kids software I have seen I would think $30.00 would be reasonable. Please comment back, Jumpstart and the Consumer Protection Board
Please send them back. The info is on top of the box.
